Edward Ruble Jr.

Edward Ruble, Jr., 88, of Forest died peacefully Wednesday May, 9, 2012 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Christine Ryan Ruble for 66 years.

Edward was born June 11, 1923 in Bedford, VA., a son of the late Edward Ruble, Sr. and Dorothy Staton. Edward honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was formally employed as a crane operator for W.E.L, Inc.  Edward was a member of Forest Road United Methodist Church and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 147.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Shirley Gail Ruble and Glenda Ruble West (Mike); three grandchildren, Ryan Edward Bierowski (Laura), Amy Kristen West and Julie West Evans (Matt); five great grandchildren: Landon, Laylah and Laney Bierowski, Kaitlyn and Caleb Evans and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Estern Ruble and a sister, Frances Roberts.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Rev. John Kinnard, Rev. Henry Riley and Chaplain Wayne Lanham officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today, May 11, 2012 from 6:00 \"" 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
