Edwin Lewis Lacy, 84 of Forest, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, quietly in his home. He was born August 30, 1926 in Richmond, VA.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Pearl Smith Lacy, his brother Vernon S. Lacy, as well as his parents Beatrice Hotzbech Lacy and Jesse Chesterman Lacy.
He is survived by his four sons Steven E. Lacy of Mt Airy, MD, Jeffrey A. Lacy and wife, Cindy of Evington, James D. Lacy and wife, Lisa of Goode, Thomas M. Lacy and wife, Debi of Lady Lake, FL. and his daughter, Anne L. Wagner and husband, Ernie of Forest, and by Nancy Stewart of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by (11) grandchildren and (9) great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Employed by James McGraw, Inc., retiring after 46 years, as President of the Virginia Branches. Member and past president of the Brookville Timberlake Lions Club. He was known for his gorgeous rose garden, in every shade of pink, a result of his meticulous care. He will be remembered for his quick wit, great sense of humor, and \"whistle\".
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and at other times at his residence. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with Harold Lee Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park, Forest, with reception after, at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Goode.
