Eileen Phillips, beloved grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher, departed this life Monday, July 30, 2018.
Eileen touched hundreds of lives through her work as a special education teacher for the past 30 years. She approached life with strength and tenacity possessed by few.
Born in November, 1952, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Cornelius O’Keefe, and her beloved grandparents, May and Ferdinand Reinhardt. She is survived by her children, Sarah (Daniel) and Lily (Jon); her sisters Kathy and Peggy; grandchildren Justin, Heaven, Danny, Nathan, and Abigail; her nieces: Bethany, Rose, and Alicia; and her best friend, Pam.
Eileen raised her children to love their fellow humans and to treat everyone equally and with kindness. She would want all of you to do the same.
Visitation will be Friday, August 3 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., with Mass following at 12 noon. A reception will follow. That’s all the news from Lake Woebegone, where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.
