Elaine Tucker Fisher, 84, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at her residence. Born Sunday, April 25, 1926 in Amherst County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Massie Tucker and Jessie Humphries Tucker. She was the loving and devoted wife of Watkins Thornton Fisher for 68 years.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a grandson; W. T. Buchanan, and a brother; Robert M. Tucker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters; Doris F. Andrus, of Lynchburg, Terri F. Adams and her husband, Rex, of Madison Heights, Brenda F. Lacy and her husband, Ray of Lynchburg, Linda F. Mayhugh and her husband, Jimmy, of Madison Heights, two granddaughters; Michelle L. Hendricks and her husband, Rusty, Madison Heights, and Tammy R. Lacy, of Lynchburg, a grandson; Nathan R. Lacy, of Lynchburg, three great granddaughters; Laura L. Schindler, of Madison Heights, Samantha L. Schindler, of Upper Sandusky, OH, and Sydney Hendricks, Madison Heights, a great grandson; Ian Buchanan, of Lynchburg; a brother; Ronald T. Tucker, of Lynchburg, and a very close friend Sang Fisher, who thought of Elaine as her mother.
Elaine was a Christian lady, an angel. She was there for her family no matter what the situation. You could always count on her loving care and support. She had a great since of humor, who often said, \"I hope I can always be funny.\", and she was. She was a member of Keystone Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star. She will missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM on Monday, August 16, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating. Internment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
