Eleanor Bondurant Carwile, 80, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Claude Morgan Carwile, Jr., for 63 years.
Eleanor was on born February 2, 1936 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Charles Henry Bondurant, Sr. and the late Virginia Mayberry Bondurant.
Eleanor is survived by her son, James Alan Carwile and his wife, Marsha; two grandchildren, Meredith C. Boyd and husband, Josh and Morgan Elizabeth Carwile; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Boyd; two brothers, Charles H. Bondurand, Jr. and wife, Mary and David A. Bondurant and wife, Betty; two sisters, Marjorie B. Brooks and Carole B. George; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eleanor attended Brookville High School and retired from Ericsson, after 30 years of employment. She was an active member of Forest Road United Methodist Church for the majority of her life. She devoted her life to the service of others.
A memorial service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 2:30 p.m., at Forest Road United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Buchanan officiating.
