Mrs. Eleanor Louise Canada, formerly of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away quietly, April 19, 2015 at Carriage Hill Retirement Community, Bedford, Virginia. Mrs. Canada was preceded in death by husband James R Canada, Sr.
Mrs. Canada was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, is survived by children, James Reed Canada, Jr, and wife Judy of Beaufort, North Carolina, Sherry Thorne and husband Tom Thorne of Moneta, Virginia, Grandchildren, Beth Gunning of Los Angeles, California, Eric Reed Canada of Mayodan, North Carolina and Lynlee Wastie of Rockingham, Virginia and seven Great Grandchildren. Eleanor was an original Rosie the Riveter during WW II, active in her church community, Director of Mary Kay Cosmetics, owned her own beauty salon, was a talented artist.
“Her family will remember her as an adventurous spirit who fiercely loved life and those close to her.”
At a later date, family and friends will enjoy a celebration of life.
