Elizabeth Ann Owens
Elizabeth \"Betty\" Ann Owens, 57, of Mt. Jackson, VA. and formerly of Edgewater, MD., died Monday, January 3, 2011 in the Winchester Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born June 24, 1953 in Nassau County, New York, a daughter of the late Esther F. Buckley Sunden and Edward A. Sunden.
Betty was currently employed as a production manager with Marva Maid Dairy in Landover, MD. She was an avid NASCAR and New York Mets fan.
Betty is survived by her husband, Leroy E. Owens; a daughter, Allison Tara Owens of Glen Burnie, MD; two brothers, Frank Sunden of PA and John Sunden of NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
A celebration of Betty\"™s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren, 6381 Crooked Run Rd., Mt. Jackson, VA 22842 with Pastor Louie Shaffer officiating. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, VA, 540-586-3443.
