Elizabeth Ann Watkins Cathcart, 86, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday June 20, 2010, at Westminster Canterbury. She was the wife of the late Leonard Nelson Cathcart for 58 years.
Mrs. Cathcart was born in Loudon, Tennessee, December 29, 1923, a daughter of the late William Douglas Watkins and Geraldine Rousseau Watkins. Betsy, as she was known to her friends, was a loving and devoted wife and mother, an amazing Southern cook, and an excellent bridge player. She attended Maryville College and was a member of the a cappella choir.
She is survived by three children: Pamela R. Fedas of Atlanta, GA, D. Christopher Cathcart and wife Sunny of Potomac, MD, and Betsy L. King and husband Christopher of Lynchburg, VA. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2pm, Friday, June 25, 2010, on Drinkard 5 of Westminster Canterbury. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to make memorials please consider the WMC Fellowship Fund, 501 VES Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
