Elizabeth \”Œbeth\” Tibbetts
Elizabeth \"Beth\" Tibbetts, 88, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, March 09, 2010. She was the wife of the late Horace "Tib" William Tibbetts.
Mrs. Tibbetts was born Friday, December 09, 1921 in Spencer, MA, a daughter of the late Earl Bemis and Carrie Fay Bemis. She was retired from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she was a registered nurse.
Beth was a strong, proud, independent and intelligent woman with a profound sense of duty and responsibility. She took tremendous joy in her identity as a registered nurse. She is loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Beth Erviti and husband, Jerome Barilla, of Wendell, MA, and James (Jim) Luis Erviti and wife, Kelly Jones, of Warwick, MA; four grandchildren; her brother, Theodore (Ted) H. Bemis, of Waynesboro, VA, and her sister, Judith Ann Poindexter and husband, John, of Nashville, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lester Earl Bemis; her sister, Barbara Fay Rogers; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Bemis.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010 in the chapel of Westminster-Canterbury with the Rev. William J. Coleman officiating.
