Dorothy Elizabeth Kircus Messer, 86, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, died at Lynchburg General Hospital on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was the wife of the late James Edward Messer. Elizabeth was born in Anniston, AL on November 14, 1925 a daughter of the late Henry J. and Amelia Mange Kircus.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Florence Messer Hall and husband, Carlton \"Bo\" Hall and their daughter, Amanda Hall all of Altavista; her son, Michael J. E. Messer and wife, Becky and their children, Kathryn Ancell and husband, Karl, Michael Messer and wife, Addison and Matthew Messer and wife, Heather all of Denton, TX and sister, Evelyn Smith of ID. In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by an infant daughter, Hazel Amelia Kircus Messer, seven sisters and two brothers.
Elizabeth was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale since 1954 and a member of the Broward County Republican Committee in Fort Lauderdale.
Locally, friends may visit in the home of Florence and Bo Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
