Ellen Scott Wheeler

Ellen Frances Scott Wheeler, 90, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Runk & Pratt assisted living in Forest, VA. Born December 2, 1921, a daughter of the late William Jessee Scott and Bessie Arthur Scott. In addition to her parents Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nelson Randolph Wheeler; a daughter, Carolyn M. Beeman; two sisters Lelia S. Yates and Juanita Mae Scott, and also two brothers Harry Scott and Paige Scott.

Ellen was a member of Bedford Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, going shopping and going out to eat.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Robert L. Beeman and his wife, Vickie of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Vickie D. Evans and her husband, Josh and Patrick Beeman; six great-grandchildren, Zoe Derr, Dylan Derr, Zach Evans, Olivia Evans, Gabriel Beeman and Deklyn Beeman; two sisters, Marion S. Saunders and Charlotte S. Smith and her husband, Mike; also numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ellen\"™s life will be conducted at 11 am, on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
