Elsie Mae Gates, 76, of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by family in love.

She was born on November 10, 1947 in Forest, Virginia where she resided for many years until moving to Roanoke, Virginia.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Denise Gates; granddaughters, Keira Gates and Johnae Gates; three sisters and one brother; along with many other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 07, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Level Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
