Elsie Hesson, 92, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. She was the wife of the late Edward Hesson.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Dewey Crawford and the late Rose Crawford.
In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill G. Crawford, Joseph Crawford, and Mary Elizabeth Ditsler.
She is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Kathy and Greg Geheb of Nashua, NH, Paul Crawford of Madison, WI, Cindy Cox of Vincennes, IN, Eddie and Cris Crawford of Rustburg, VA, Jeff and Tina Crawford of Concord, VA, Carl and Ruth Crawford, Debbie and Phil Goff, Cheryl Absher, and Joette Crawford all of Madison Heights, VA; as well as six great nephews, eight great nieces, twenty great-great nieces and nephews, two great-great-great nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
Services will be held at Sandy Bottom Christian Church on Monday, May 5, 2014. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ageless Wonders, P.O. Box 661 Rustburg, VA 24588.
Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, 118 Commonwealth Drive, Madison Heights (434-929-0055) is assisting the family.
