Elwood Bryant, Sr., 74, of Goode, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015. He was the loving husband of Linda Bryant.
Born in Amherst on January 27, 1941, he was the son of the late Wilton and Mattie Bryant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Bryant; and five siblings: Thomas Bryant, Haywood Bryant, Howard Bryant, Frances Bryant, and Sandy Bryant.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda; his daughter, Melissa Staples and her husband, Bill; a son, Wilton Bryant; his grandchildren: Crystal Tyree and her boyfriend, Kevin Fitzgerald, Corey Mays and his wife, Krystalin, Seth Howard, Alex Bryant, and Blake Bryant; a great-grandson, Colt Easton Mays; soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Madilynn Rae Fitzgerald; and his brother, Russell Bryant and his wife, Betsy.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 1:00 p.m., which will conclude with interment at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
