Elzie Cook Goff, 94, of Lynchburg, VA, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She was the wife of the late Vernon Burton Goff.
Elzie was born Wednesday, November 14, 1917 in Cleveland, VA, a daughter of the late James Morgan Cook and the late Nannie Katherine Street Cook. She retired from Goff Electrical Company where she was the Secretary and Bookkeeper. She was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Holmberg, and husband Bob, of Rustburg, Mary Ellen Norberg, and husband, Erick, and Susan Goff all of Lynchburg, Linda Mathews, and husband Jim, of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren: Heather Edwards, Tracey Wiley, Troy Langhorne, Karen Hatter, and Erica Norberg; a sister, Maudie Stevens, of Honaker, VA; and Eight Great-Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Elzie's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, Dec. 2, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Richard Jett officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 2PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11AM at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
