Emily Luck Dooley Williamson, 73, of Bedford, died Sunday, February 7, 2016.
She was the wife of Robert “Bobby” Williamson.
Born August 7, 1942 to the late Josephine Luck Cofer, raised by her grandparents Wellington and Gladys Luck.
Emily graduated from Montvale High School where she was very active in sports, especially basketball. After graduation, she completed her Associates Degree from National Business College. She worked in the insurance industry for 42 years. Emily has been an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and the many Senior Citizen activities she attended throughout the county.
She is survived by family: Marshall Cofer and his wife Bonnie, Clyde Cofer, Paul Luck , Jack “Jimmy” Luck and wife Jenna Lee, Nancy Trout and her husband Bob, Betty Ann Ferrell; three step children of Hamid N. Dooley: Peggy Dooley Key, Sandra Dooley Robertson, and Charles “Poochie” Dooley; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Epworth United Methodist Church ( Thaxton, VA) conducted by Rev. Jeane Dunkum. Private interment.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 4-6pm at Tharp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
