Emma Stinnett

Emma Lee Stinnett, 76, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

She was born July 30, 1935 in Lynchburg, to the late Sarah Baldwin Gallier and Oscar Gallier Sr.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Stinnett Sr. 

Emma is survived by her two children: a daughter, Gail Mays of Forest; and a son, Robert Stinnett Jr. (Judy) of Lynchburg. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Purvis of Lynchburg, and a brother, Oscar Gallier Jr. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two special friends; Linda Breeden and Sandra Fulcher.

A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg today, Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 7:00-8:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, February 24, 2012, at Fort Hill Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018. 

Emma was a unique, loving woman, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
