Emmett Waverly Davidson

Emmett Waverly Davidson, 89, of Altavista,VA, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Medical Care Center in Lynchburg. Born December 19, 1922, he was the son of the late Beverly E. and the late Verna Oakes Davidson.  He was predeceased by two infant sons.

 Mr. Davidson was twice married; first to Doris S. Davidson and the late Barbara S. Davidson. He is survived by three sons: Ted Davidson and wife Roxane of Hurt, Glen Davidson and James Davidson of Virginia Beach, two stepsons: Frank and Alan Smith; two brothers: Herman Davidson and wife Doris of Chatham, Carroll Davidson and wife Lillian of Gretna, a sister: Betty Jean Davidson Hayes and husband Jim of Mobile, Al. He is also survived by two grandsons: Adam Davidson, Brad Davidson and wife Megan, and two step-grandsons: Joel and Ryan Smith and one great grandson, Blake Davidson.

 He was a veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Intrepid. He was also a graduate of the University of Virginia and retired from The Lane Company in Altavista.

 In keeping with Mr. Davidson\"™s request, there will be no funeral services. Interment will be private.
