Enek Emanuel Irby

Enek E. Irby, age 87 of Forest, died October 21, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born November 24, 1936, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Robert Hugh Irby and Willie Florence Bailess Irby. He was predeceased by five sisters: Reva, Odessa, and Evelyn Irby, and Vera Hall, and Naomi McGhee and four brothers: Robert, Hugh Paul, Timothy and Sam. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Coffey Irby, of the residence. He is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Saunders (Donald), Donna Wiener, and son, Kirk Irby (Sandra).

He served a tour of duty with the U. S. Army, being stationed in Stuttgart, Germany for two years. He worked for BGF for 42 years, having served as Maintenance Manager.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by two brothers: Dwight Irby (Debbie) of Thomasville, NC, and Buck Irby of Gretna, VA, and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jennifer Mitchell and nephew Terry McGhee. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Cutie, and all his neighbors who have been like family over the past years providing countless acts of love and assistance. Also, Carissa and Justin Antezana who were like grandchildren to us.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Concord Cemetery by Rev. Joe Elmore.
