Eric Stallings, 51, of Lynchburg, died Friday, May 07, 2021.
Born in Evansville, IN, Eric was the son of Bryce and Teresa Stallings.
Eric was preceded in death by grandparents James and Beatrice Stallings and Earl and Melba Cotner, an aunt, Collen Klenck and two uncles, Vance and Herschel Stallings.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his sister Tamara Short and her husband, David, aunts; Darlene Travers, Vickie Fisher and her husband, Bob, Druscilla Keel and her husband Stan, Jackie Kennedy and her husband, Mark, Vicki Brasel, and nieces, Julie and Laura Short as well as many cousins, and longtime girlfriend, Shannon Pettyjohn and her daughter Piper.
Eric was a much-loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His laughter was 100 percent contagious and he laughed a lot! The hallmarks of his personality, his sense of humor, charm, playfulness and his tender and genuine loving spirit will be long-remembered and cherished by those who knew him best. Eric was highly knowledgeable in a wide variety of interests ranging from any and all sports, especially Indiana basketball, UVA basketball and Cincinnati Bengals football to painting (he had a budding talent for art) and model building and small engine repair. He was an expert landscaper, auto enthusiast and history buff. Like all of us, Eric was a complex and multi-faceted person, and he held his most precious gift in his heart all the days of his life after he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Because Eric knew, as Romans 10:9 says, “if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
A celebration of Eric’s life will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg with Rev. Duane Gregory officiating.
