Eric David “Jherico” Kjeseth (March 21, 1973 to January 14, 2025)
Eric David Kjeseth was born on March 21, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois and, a month later, became the fifth child of Peter Lars Kjeseth and Solveig Mertrice Mason Kjeseth in Denver, Colorado. He became a big brother to Peder Leif in 1976. He grew up mostly in Dubuque, Iowa and Denver, Colorado. He also lived for years in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he served in a leadership role at his sober house for more than a year.
Eric’s parents blessed him with travel around the world. Eric lived in Oslo, Norway; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Cape Town, South Africa. In 2017, he moved to Lynchburg, Virginia.
Eric was a voracious reader, who loved science fiction and fantasy, but also explored history, philosophy, and social justice literature. Eric learned to swim about the same time as he learned to walk, and spent many summers with his family at Big Trout Lake, north of Crosslake, Minnesota. In South Africa, he volunteered both at the Masiphumelele Library and at the Simons Town Historical Museum.
Eric was a member of arts communities in both South Africa and Lynchburg, and he leaves behind many colleagues and friends who admired his work, valued his feedback, and always wondered what he would do next. In Lynchburg, Eric shared a studio in the Riverview Artspace for many years with artist Ronnie DeLuze. His instagram account is

Eric is survived by his mother, Solveig Kjeseth; his siblings Lars, Martha, Thor, Sara, and Peder; and his nephews and nieces: Siri, Steen, Synnove, Hisashi, Kana, Tor-Ole and Bjørn. Eric leaves behind friends in Denver, Minneapolis, Zimbabwe, and Cape Town.
