Erminia Aurora Mayorga Moorefield was born on April 25, 1934 and passed at the age of 86 on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Erminia, who went by the nickname “Minnie”, was born in Santa Barbara, California but lived most of her life in Virginia. Minnie did not have an easy start in life. Her mother died when she was 14 years old and being the oldest child, she quit school to help raise her siblings. She later received her G.E.D.
Erminia is survived by her children, Rachel Quintero, Ronald Quintero (Loralee), Janette Rudder (Chip), Jennifer Mull (Eric), and Jamie Rodriguez (Candelario), twelve grandchildren, Jerome Quintero, Tanya Quintero, Janelle Moorefield, John Moorefield, Connie Kittrell (Scott), Kristen Rudder, Sean Rudder (Cody), Candicia Rodriguez (Sigfredo), Miguel Rodriguez (Valeria), Luis Rodriguez (Anna), Danyel Jackson, and Briana Mull, and a brother, Joseph Mayorga and several great-grandchildren.
Erminia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Angela Mayorga, two sons, James Quintero, Paul Quintero, three brothers and one sister, Rudolph Mayorga, Erlinda Mendoza, Edward Mayorga, and Juan Mayorga.
Minnie was best known for the love of her family, as well as her awesome baking and cooking, and crocheting afghans.
A memorial will held service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2 pm, virtually via Zoom. Please contact Valeria Rodriguez at 843-540-2560 to join.
