Ernest DeWitt “Pops” Ford, Jr., 68, of Gladys died Friday, January 27, 2017.
Pops was born July 23, 1948 in Lynchburg a son of the late Ernest DeWitt Ford, Sr. and Clara Catlett Ford. Pops was the retired owner of Ragnarok.
He is survived by his three sons: Travis DeWitt Ford (Jennifer) of Gladys, Brandon Blake Ford, Sr. (Michelle) of Gladys, and Micah Barrett Ford (Karin) of Amherst, one brother Bradley Kent Ford of Yellow Branch, and eight grandchildren: Brandon Blake Ford, Jr. (Logan), Whistie Macon Ford, Rayna Caitlin Ford, Skyler Hunter Ford, Josephine O’Brien Ford, Jessica Lynn Ford, Collin Chase Ford, and Dylan Parker Ford, one godson Logan Ford, a special daughter Melissa Childress, three “adoptive” sons: Lee White, Bobby Brooks, and Chuck Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. The family requests that dress be casual and those wishing to share stories about Pops will be welcomed to do so.
