Essie Mayberry Bryant, 92, of Lynchburg, passed away Sun., August 29, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Aubrey C. Bryant.
Essie was born May 18, 1918 in Campbell County to the late Elmer Glenn Mayberry and Myrtle Turner Mayberry. She was a retired employee of Miller & Rhodes and a founding member of Madison Heights Christian Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers; Alfred Mayberry, Dick Mayberry, Curtis Mayberry, and Paul Mayberry.
She is survived by four sisters; Virginia Clements, Bernice Calhoun (Ray), Myrtle Patterson, and Mamie Freeman (Walker) and one brother, J.B. Mayberry (Pauline). She is also survived her son Preston Bryant (Sandria), three grandchildren, Laura Molsky, Larry Feys (Mary), and Sherry Bryant; three great grandchildren, Kyle and Shannon Molsky and Meredith Feys, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends tonight, August 31, 2010 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 in the chapel at Tharp Funeral Home with Rev. D. Jack Hamilton, Rev. George Harris, and Rev. Kyle Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
