Eugene Edmund Kosa, 80, of Nanticoke, PA, died Sunday, December 14, 2014.
Born on January 20, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Cecelia Kosa. Eugene graduated from Nanticoke High School, and later received his B.A. from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and his M.A. from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. He also attended Seton Hall University, Columbia University, New Paltz University, Union College, Carnegie-Mellon University, and Vassar College. Eugene taught Math and Computer Science at Bergenfield High School in Bergenfield, NJ from 1959 until 1960, and at Beacon High School in Beacon, NY from 1960 until 1989.
Eugene proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1954. He was an honorary life member of Beacon Lodge of Elks and also was also the Past Exalted Ruler and the Past District Deputy of the BPOE. Eugene became a resident of the Elks National Home on October 1, 2008, and was a member for 50 years of the American Legion Post #350 of Nanticoke, PA. He was also a member of the Southern Dutchess Country Club in Beacon, NY and a communicant of Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Bedford, VA.
