Eva Hall

Eva Jane Slayton Hall transitioned from labor to reward on March 13, 2024.

Eva was proceeded in death by her son Jack B. Hall III; four brothers, Joe Louis, Doris Lee, Milton Slayton, and James Hall; one sister and one sister, Mary Agnes Watson. 

Eva was born to Rebecca Davis and Johnnie Slayton on June 4, 1943. She was married to James C. Hall, Sr. in 1958 and to that union they had five children, James, Jack, Reginald, Teresa Hall, and Cathy Halloway. The children increased her legacy with twelve grandchildren: Recardow Rose, Katina Tune, Carla Ogutu, Cimere Christian, Deidra Broadnax, Staci Hamlet, Monica, John, Tiana, Sony, Sidney, and Jarel Hall. They increased her legacy with twenty great-grandchildren, two to whom she devoted her time and love, Tresean and Myasia Hall who lived with her. She leaves to remember her one sibling, Gloria (Alvin) Jackson; one aunt, Estell Gilbert; four sister-in-laws, Carrie Slayton of Pennsylvania, Irene Clark of Altavista, Estell Hall of Long Island, and Patricia Slayton of Evington. Also surviving are an abundance of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Eva was employed at CVTC until she retired in 2004. Eva was a great cook and she shared her skill with everyone. Eva was a faithful member of Staunton Baptist Church in Long Island, Virginia until her health started to fail, she loved her church and hoped to return. She will be missed by her family and two riding buddies, Dorothy Davis and Deloris Mendelson.  

A celebration of life will be held at Staunton Baptist Church Long Island, Va Monday, March 18, 2024, with a public visitation one hour prior to service.
