Evelyn Banks, 82, of Madison Heights, Va passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. She departed this life at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born March 23, 1938 in Gladstone, Va (Nelson County).
She gave her life to Christ at Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church at an early age. She worshiped there until moving away to Lynchburg, Va., then moving away to Baltimore, Maryland then back to Scott Zion Baptist Church in Madison Heights, Va.
She was the daughter of the late Cora Beverly and Peter Beverly, she leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Michael Banks (Harriett) and Armond Love (Jennifer); one son preceded her in death, Marvin Banks (Rhonda); three siblings, Ethel Hall (Otis), Ruth Bailey (Jeff), and Annie Carter (Joseph); four grandchildren, Parker Banks, Lauren Banks, Armond Love, III, and Acacia Love and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her favorite past time was gardening and working in the yard, she loved shopping and cooking (trying new dishes). She loved her neighbors and family and most of all she loved God.
Evelyn will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights, VA. Reverend Elynor Rose, Presiding, and Reverend L. L. Yuille, Eulogy. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
