Evelyn Davis Hunt, 95, of Lynchburg died Tuesday June 28, 2016. She was the wife of the late Garland Thomas Hunt.
Evelyn was born on August 2, 1920 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Arthur Middleton Davis and Virginia Arrington Davis. Evelyn was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret Daniel (E.B.) of Lynchburg, three sons: Garland Davis Hunt (Peg), Ronald Thomas Hunt (Beckie), and Reginald Clark Hunt (Vicki) all of Lynchburg, one sister, Bettina Divers of Rocky Mount, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her spouse and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, John Davis and Benjamin Davis, and one sister Ruby Shepherd.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Sandusky Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at Sandusky Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Vogt officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Carrington for their loving care of Evelyn for the past two years.
