Evelyn “Dawn” Brooks Hicks Frye, 62, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Rodney Dale Frye for 32 years.
Born in Lynchburg on March 2, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Emmett Clinton Brooks and Elizabeth Virginia Brooks. She is also preceded in death by sister: Sandra Fielder and brothers: Dale and Douglas Brooks.
In addition to Rodney, Dawn is survived by her loving daughter: Tara Hicks Hammock; son-in-law: Tommy Hammock; grandchildren: Woody, Kyle and Emily Hammock; sisters: Linda Powell (Junior), Delores Tucker, June Hall; brother: Clinton Brooks (Richard); many nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law: Preston and Marie Frye.
Friends and family are invited to the home of Tara Hammock for a celebration of Dawn’s life on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.
