Evelyn Denson North, 78, of Forest, died Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was the wife of Franklin Loyd North for 57 years.
Born Monday, December 25, 1939 in Campbell County, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Otha William Denson and the late Helen Louise Burnette Denson.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by her only child Steven Loyd North and his wife Deborah Ann North. Evelyn had five living grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Williams and her husband Mark, Shawn Steven North and his wife Bree, Benjamin Regis North and his wife Samantha, Frank Robert North and Samuel Joseph North. Evelyn also had six great grandchildren, Mason, Patrick, Levi, Peyton, Kennedy and Rayden.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Louise North, her sister Drusilla “Daisy” Valenti, and her brother Rawlings Denson.
Evelyn was well known in her community for being a business woman in Lynchburg for over forty years.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Parks.
