Evelyn Elliott Tucker
Evelyn Elliott Tucker, 90 of Autumn Care in Altavista, and formerly of Rustburg, died on Monday, September 30, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Born Friday, July 24, 1923 in Concord, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Elliott and the late Pearl Lerner Elliott. She was the wife of the late Ammon (Ben) Tucker.
She was formerly employed by Campbell County Schools.
She was a member of Meade Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons; Roger Graybill (Kathy) of Lynchburg, Kevin Tucker (Mona) of Rustburg and Jeff Tucker (Noelle) of CA, a daughter; Josephine Wells of Rustburg, two sisters, Christine Burnette of Lynchburg and Ruby Lloyd of Houtzdale, PA; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Wells, Brandi Cash, Amy Vest, Gordon Smith, Laura Graybill-Conner, Adam Graybill and Joseph Graybill; 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Graybill, a son in-law, Gene Wells, brothers: George Elliott and Frank Elliott, sister, Shirley Carter.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg Chapel. Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday at Tharp Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Campbell County Humane Society, P.O.Box 659, Rustburg, VA 24588 or St. Judes Children Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
