Evelyn Exum Ingram, 94, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on January 5, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Colonel David M. Ingram. Evelyn was born October 25, 1924 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Harry Edward Exum and the late Lona Payne Exum. She and her husband moved to Lynchburg after his retirement from Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia to be near their daughter and family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and numerous other organizations. Her charitable work extended through her military and civilian life.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Lona Ingram Prasse and her husband, Henry of Lynchburg; two grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Nanny”, Andrew Bourne Prasse and Rebecca Payne Exum Prasse; a sister, Mrs. Harold Harris of Hendersonville, Tennessee; a niece, Judy Hough also of Hendersonville.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 1215 V. E. S. Road, with Rev. Peter Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the church columbarium.
