Fannie Logan

November 30, 1928 — May 12, 2025

Fannie Roberta Cunningham Logan passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025. Born on November 30, 1928, to Edward and Bessie Cunningham in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the oldest of two children. She was educated in the Lynchburg City Schools system and was raised spending time with several family members. She began her career of domestic work and caregiving in her late teenage years.

Fannie married Willie Logan on July 16, 1965, and spent her life with him for forty-three years until his death in 2008. She attended services at Fifth Street Baptist Church in Lynchburg until she could no longer be present. She enjoyed spending time each summer with her family in either Fayetteville, N.C. or at her home in Lynchburg. She also liked to sit on her porch with neighbors, friends, family, and her dogs. Although she was a private person, she would frequently befriend others in need and provide help when she could.

Once in the workforce, Fannie maintained the homes of the Massie Family, who she felt was her second family. She would spend most of her life assisting them when needed and provided close caregiving for children and others. She loved spending vacation time and sharing joyful memories with them during holidays. After she moved from her home to Clearbrook Apartments, she participated in many activities of on-site church services, birthday parties, shopping trips and bingo with several close friends. The staff of Wells Fargo, CVS, and Hardees were very familiar with her and loved to chat when she stopped in.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, her dearly loved brother Hermon Cunningham, and her husband Willie. She leaves to cherish her life, love, and memories “her girls” as she called them, devoted nieces Belinda Epps of Suffolk, Virginia, Eileen Cunningham of Atlanta, Georgia, and Geronda Pulliam (Rodney) of Greensboro, North Carolina and her sister-in-law, Doris Cunningham of Greensboro, North Carolina. She also leaves “her babies” great nieces Simone Epps, Rachel Epps and Rosa Camp (Shay) and great nephew Isaiah Pulliam, who all were her loving delight. She held a very special place in her heart for "her boys" Darroch, Duncan, David, Stuart and Deming Massie.

The Cunningham, Epps, and Pulliam families would like to thank the endearing staff of Tate Springs Skilled Nursing Facility for their caring attention to our Aunt Fannie during her years of residency.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Baptist Cemetery.
