Floyd Andrew Goff, 69, of Big Island, went to be with his Lord, Friday, June 24, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Patricia Garrett Wilson Goff for 49 years and 6 months. He was born January 11, 1947 in Big Island. He was a son of the late Maxie Andrews and Addie Wilson Goff. Floyd retired from Owens Illinois. He is also preceded in death by two grandsons: Patrick and Joshua Anderson, mother and father-in-law: Dorothy and Roy Garrett; and brother: James Goff.
Floyd was a strong role model for all of his children and grandchildren. He was a 29 year cancer survivor. Floyd was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, Floyd loved anytime spent outdoors. His many hobbies included carpentry, masonry, and gardening. When not enjoying these pastimes, he relished talking cars and turning wrenches.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Jennifer (Philip) Anderson, Karen (William) Miles, Janice (Marty) Stevens, Michael (Tracey) Goff; eight grandchildren: Alyssia and Colton Anderson, Jason Stephens, Anthony and Alexis Stevens, Paige, Jocelyn, and Liam Goff; siblings: Daisy Byers, Bernice (Richard) Kay and twins, Dora (Roger) Painter, Larry Goff, Cheryl Foster; brother-in-law: David (Carol) Garrett; sister-in-law: Louise Pohl; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Hunting Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
