Floyd Hampton Franklin, Jr., 59 of Madison Heights, Virginia died on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at his residence in Madison Heights, Virginia.
Born Saturday, March 9, 1957 in Lynchburg, Virginia, Floyd was a son of the late Floyd Hampton Franklin Sr., and Jeanette Jackson Franklin.
In addition to his mother Floyd is survived by a son Roman Bronze Franklin, a daughter, Shaneeka Williams, of Lynchburg, twin sister, Floydette Walker, of Washington D.C., two sisters, Ramona J. Franklin, of Lynchburg, and Ruth C. Taylor and her husband, Larry, of Lynchburg, two brothers, Allen Franklin and Michael Franklin, both of Lynchburg, his loving companion, Angela Lynn Williams, of Lynchburg, and numerous other family members.
Floyd was a great father, son and brother. A people person he loved to help others, especially those in need. He was a person of strong faith in his God. A practical joker he would always lift up those around him.
A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The Family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
