Floyd Alan Hill, 78, of Amherst, Virginia, a devoted husband and father passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on September 25, 1946, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Floyd Franklin Hill and Flossie Robey Hill. A proud American, Floyd served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War before embarking on a long and successful career as an engineer. He retired from L3Harris Technologies in 2013 after decades of dedicated work.
Alan was a man who deeply loved the simple pleasures in life. Whether he was teeing off at the golf course, out in the woods hunting, or riding his beloved tractor, Alan found joy in the outdoors and the world around him. He was known for his quiet strength, warm smile, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Vicki Cash Hill; daughters Lisa H. Miluszusky (Billy) of Bayside, TX, and Brooke A. Hill of Amherst, VA; and son Scott B. Falwell of Amherst, VA. He is also survived by his brother Michael W. Hill (Lynne) of Lynchburg, VA, and his special nieces Emma B. Mcpherson (Jeremiah) and Caroline B. Martin (Christian), both of Amherst. He held a special place in his heart for his great-nephews Cavani and Cade Mcpherson, and he leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Gary L. Hill of Bedford, VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at his residence in Amherst, VA. All who knew and loved Alan are invited to attend and share memories of a life well lived.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
