Jane Fry, 88, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born December 14, 1928, the fourth daughter of the late Lloyd Homer Fry and the late Annie Lanham Fry. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her siblings, Theresa Fry Verdinella, Mary Elisabeth Fry, and Lloyd Homer “Joe” Fry, Jr. She is survived by her sister. Madeline Fry Fielder and numerous nieces and nephews, who were always referred to by Jane as “my children”.
A lifelong member of Holy Cross Church and longtime employee of the Mead Corporation, Jane stayed an active member of the Lynchburg Community. Her warmth, generosity, and wit endeared her to all. Jane will be sorely missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Monsignor J. Kenneth Rush officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice or Holy Cross Catholic Church, 710 Clay Street, Lynchburg, Va, 24504. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
