Frances Karnes Bobbitt

Frances Karnes Miller Bobbitt, 83, of Bedford died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at her residence. She was a member of Thaxton Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a retiree of Rubatex having worked there for 23 years.

 

Born May 12, 1933 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Jake Karnes and Fannie Pearl Parker Karnes. Frances is also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children Roy Junior Miller; five sisters; and four brothers.

 

Frances is survived by her loving husband, Earnest C. Bobbitt; two sons; James “Randy” Miller and wife, Dorothy, Roger L. Miller and his life partner, Carlton Doss; three daughters: Faye Miller-Martin and husband, Tommy, Pamela M. Lloyd and husband, Robert, Kathy M. Saunders and husband, Carl; 9 grandchildren, Richard, Steven, Christopher, Jessica, Matthew, Jennifer, Emilie, Jordan and Melissa; 7 great grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford with Pastor Johnny Gupton officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
