Frances Overby Tuck

Frances Overby Tuck, 76, of Lynchburg, died on Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was the wife of D. Dean Tuck for fifty-nine years. Born on August 31, 1936 in Halifax County she was a daughter of the late Charlie Samuel Overby and the late Willie Buntin Overby.

In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by one son, Stanley Tuck and wife, Lynda of Forest; two grandchildren, Nicholas Tuck and Beth Tuck both of Forest; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Tuck of Forest; three sisters, Mary Ann Stanley and husband, Punk of Nathalie and Helen Hill and husband, Walter of Gretna and Deborah Wilkins of Alton; three brothers, Charlie Overby, of Virgilina, Lynn Overby and wife, Annie Sue of Virgilina and Ronnie Overby and wife, Marie of Halifax; one sister-in-law, Judy Overby of Scottsburg and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by one son, Greg Tuck and two brothers, Raymond and Johnnie Overby.

Frances was a graduate of Halifax County High School and worked at Amerisource, formerly Strother Drug, for twenty-seven years.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the chapel at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg by the Rev. Shelton Miles. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
