Frances Wright Mauldin, 88, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Frances was born Oct 15 1929 in Lynchburg. She was daughter of James Daniel Wright and Georgia Louise Wright and the sister of James Daniel Wright, Jr.
She was originally married to Clarence Manual “Buck” Campbell and later to John Mac Mauldin. Frances is survived by her children, James Christopher Campbell, Laura Louise Campbell DeFlora, and John Murray Campbell, her 6 grandchildren her 2 great grandchildren, and her stepchildren Elisabeth Mauldin, Scott Mauldin, and Rachel Mauldin.
Frances’ love of sewing and history led to her involvement in the costume department at The Lynchburg Fine Art Center. That later led to her reorganizing the department into a regionally recognized Theatrical Costume Exchange Program. She was also a recipient of the Edith Carrington award. It was also there that she met John Mac Mauldin whom she later married. Together they went on to spread their talents at the Red Carpet Theater in Elk City in Oklahoma and The Zachary Scott Theater in Austin, Texas.
Frances loved Lynchburg, gardening and history. She was particularly excited about the Old City Cemetery project. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg in her memory.
