Frank Julius Steckline, Jr. 91, of Moneta, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at The Glebe in Daleville, VA. He was born on October 17, 1931, in Washington DC. A son of the late Frank Julius Steckline, Sr. and Mary Julia Mueller Steckline. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Marie Louise Andreassen Steckline and a granddaughter, Katie Marr.
Frank was a member of Trinity Ecumenical Parrish in Moneta. He was a Lithographer with Lanman Progressive before his retirement. Frank loved life and everything in it. His time spent with family and friends while hosting parties and family gatherings brought him so much joy. Frank always loved Smith Mountain Lake and water in general. His family referred to Frank as a lady’s man, he loved to flirt even in most recent years with the nurses and staff at the Glebe. His keen sense of humor, strong friendships and his loyalty was so evident and a huge part of his life. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Joanne Hovgren Sherwood; three daughters, Jean Fields, Ane Marr and her husband, Robert and Frances Jacobus and her husband, Steve; five grandchildren, Julie Price and her husband, Ronnie, Jessica Langdon and her husband, Shane, Tori Kingston and her husband, Taylor, Casey Reedy and her husband, Dan and Jake Pooton; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Danielle, Elle, Liv and Colin. Also surviving are numerous other family and many friends.
