Frank Kennerly Mcveigh, Jr.

Frank Kennerly McVeigh, Jr. 94, of Lynchburg, died August 7, 2012, after a brief illness.

Born May 4, 1918, in Lynchburg, he was the eldest son of the late Frank K. McVeigh and Louise Snead McVeigh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth \"Peg\" McVeigh, his three brothers; George Snead McVeigh, James Beverly McVeigh, and William Ward McVeigh.

He graduated from E.C. Glass High School and received his Business degree from Lynchburg College in 1940.  

He proudly served our country as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in Africa, Italy and the Middle East.

He enjoyed a successful career in the banking business, spanning 45 years, beginning at Peoples National Bank, retiring from Nations Bank.

Frank was a dedicated lifetime member of St. Paul\"™s Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry for many years.

He is survived by his children, Martha McVeigh Ewing, her husband Paul and their sons

Michael & Stephen. Frank Kennerly McVeigh, III, and his sons Andrew & Oliver, all of Lynchburg.

Memorial service will be held at St. Paul\"™s Episcopal Church on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 am with the reverend Todd Vie officiating.
