Frank Allen Smith

Frank Allen Smith, 80, of Evington, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, with his family by his side.

Frank was born November 8, 1943, in Bedford, VA, a son of the late Nellie LaPradd and William Smith.

He graduated from Bedford High School in 1964 and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.  Frank was a hard worker who kept a vending line, helped many neighbors with repairs of just about anything all while working at GE Ericsson for 35 years.

Frank loved watching football, TV game shows and his grandchildren doing ANYTHING!

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Sue Glass Smith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Lisa Smith, April Parker, and Candace Montgomery (Billy), seven grandchildren; Colby, Ivan, Bianca, Carson, Matthew, Sarah, and Lori, one brother, Russell Smith (Pam) and one sister, Marilyn Holt.  He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son, Frankie Smith.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 24, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, with Pastor Carlton Duck and Pastor Donnie Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
