Frank Wyatt Shorter, 85, of Rustburg died Sunday, March 1, 2015, surrounded by his family
Born August 16, 1929, Frank was a son of the late John Shorter and Janie Green Shorter.
Frank was a member of the Boonsboro Ruritan Club, Moose Lodge 1727, where he was known as the “Bingo Man,” and was a lifetime member of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a bronze star recipient. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his cats.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Shorter.
He is survived by his two children, Lynn Isley and her husband Blake, and Laura Rice and her husband Keith; two Grandchildren; Thomas Rice and Matthew Rice; and his faithful feline companion, Little Bit.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 11:00 am at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Chaplin Wayne Lanham officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
