Franklin Alexander Bell

Franklin Alexander Bell, Jr., 82, of Goode, passed away on Sunday July 22, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Wythe Co, VA on August 3, 1929, a son of the late Franklin Alexander Bell, Sr. and Louise Moles Bell. In addition to his parents Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Bell and a sister, Bonnie Swanson.

Coon Hunting, and Cock fighting were his passion as a young man. As time went by he concentrated on his much safer and legal Catfish camping trips and annual fish fry. Not much formal education, but a very wise man. You either liked him or you didn\"™t. A true friend and one of God\"™s special characters. Frank was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and experienced forgiveness and the peace of God.

His wife, Ginger Bell has survived her 30 years with Frank. She misses him already and will not be the same without him. Frank is also survived by his four children, Barbara Palmer and her husband, Bobby, Gary Bell and his wife, Ginny, Larry Bell and his sweetheart, Brenda and Vanessa Sublett; Six Grandchildren; Five Great-grandchildren; Two Brothers, Charlie Bell and his wife, Betty and Wayne Bell and his wife, Barbara; Two sisters, Susie Peters and Pat Sittler; also numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends.

A Celebration of Franks life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Dr. Frank Schmidt and Pastor Vernon Delong Officiating. Burial will follow in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior in Tharp Chapel.
