Franklin Delano Anthony, Jr. (Babro) peacefully transitioned from this life, at the age of 63, on March 1, 2025, at his home in Greensboro, NC. He was a cherished son, brother, father, uncle, companion, grandpa and friend to many.
Franklin was born on July 29, 1961, to Franklin Delano Anthony, Sr. and Ida Johnson Anthony. Born and raised in Lynchburg, VA, he graduated from E.C. Glass High School. He was employed by Southeast Vinyl in Lynchburg for many years and after moving to Greensboro, NC. worked for various companies until he was prevented by his health.
Franklin (Babro) was a gentle, unassuming, easy-going man, with a sly sense of humor that he shared with family and friends, creating countless smiles and cherished memories.
He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren, watching TV while snacking and enjoying a good football game; he was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan. He loved to call his family and friends, numerous times per day. He had a heart for those he felt were in need, and loved visiting patients at the nursing home and taking them treats to eat. Always helpful to his neighbors, his love and unwavering support will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Proceeded in death by his father, Franklin leaves to cherish his memory and is survived by his mother, Ida A. Harris (Harold), his beloved siblings; sisters, Cheryl Mickles (Jason), Cherylene Allen and brothers Michael Anthony and Niles Anthony, Sr. (Nicole) all of Lynchburg, VA.; his loving and long-term companion, Charlene Wheeler (Greensboro, NC); his cherished children, Tiffany Anthony (Richmond, VA), Shantinia Smith (Derrick) , Jonathan Mawyer, Michael Perry , all of Lynchburg, Va, Lateka Elrod and Demetria Scruggs and the late Kiesha Wheeler (Greensboro, NC); a beloved dog Zara; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and friends.
Though he is no longer with us, Babro’s spirit lives in the hearts of all who loved him. We find comfort in knowing that he is at peace.
Rest dear Franklin, you will always be loved and remembered.
