Franklin Delano Smith

Franklin Delano Smith, 80, of Madison Heights, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. He was born on Saturday, October 27, 1934 to Harris and Myrtle Smith.
He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was a proud honorable service man who humbly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired employee of General Electric/Ericcson.
In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Iris Louise Rumley Smith, and two sisters: Doris Lee Albright, and Lorraine Deadmon.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Lynn Hubele and husband, Donald of Jackson, MS; son, Adrian D. Smith and wife, Jessica of Forest; and three grandchildren: Nathan and Matthew Hubele, and Joshua Smith.
A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 12, 2014, with Pastor Curt Parker, officiating in Briarwood Memorial Park with a visitation taking place beforehand from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights.
