Franklin \"Frank\" D. Fickle, Sr. 73, of Forest died Sunday August 22, 2010. He was the husband of Edna Jean Van Curen for 53 years.
Frank was born November 22, 1936 in Baker Oregon, the son of the late John L. Fickle and Lela Lee Fickle. He honorably served his country in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Frank loved fishing in his spare time and travelled all over the world for both work and pleasure. He worked as an electronics technician for 27 years and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Pam Berner of ILL., Sandy Beaty and husband Randy of Lynchburg, a son Franklin D. Fickle, Jr. of Somerset, PA, his siblings; John Fickle and wife Annetta of Port Orchard, WA, Helen Davenport of Couer d\"™Lene, ID, Claudia Reno of Moyie Springs, ID, Mary Simpson of Redding, CA, Pat Fickle and Duke Fickle and wife Lynn all of Spokane, WA, Ruth Masten and husband John of Hayden, ID, Bonnie Prunty and husband Jerry of Sacramento, CA, 12 grandchildren; Jesse and wife Kendra, of Woodbine, MD, Yvonne of Lynchburg, Aaron of Woodbine, MD, Josiah, Christina, Natalie, all of Lynchburg, Matthew and wife Brandi of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie of Madison Heights, Brad of Lynchburg, Will, Cameron and husband Tracey, Nick and wife Shana, and Tim, all of Boise, ID, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one grandson Randy Beaty, Jr., two brothers; William Fickle and infant brother Cyrus Fickle, and one sister Audria Jones.
A memorial service for Frank will be held at 11:00 am Saturday September 4, 2010 at Heritage Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Kroll officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors to be performed by American Legion Post #16.
