Franklin Hubert Farish, 72, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 25, 2010. He was the husband of Janet Hawks Farish for 53 years.
Born October 14, 1937 in Charlottesville, VA, he was a son of the late Robert Franklin Farish and the late Josephine Dudley Farish. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Rock-Tenn where he was a Fork Truck Mechanic and President of the Union. He was a member of Forest United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Craig Franklin Farish and his wife Debby, of Forest,, Debra Farish Robertson and her husband, George of Lynchburg; two grandchildren: Jason Craig Farish and Kinzi Nikol Farish; brothers: George R. (Sonny) Farish and his wife, Phyllis, of Louisa, Cecil A. Farish, of Lynchburg and John H. (Henry) Farish and his wife, Jonni, of Powhatan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: James M. Farish and a sister: Sandra Mailian.
Farish will be remembered as a loving husband, great father and grandfather. He was the rock of the family. He could always be counted on for good, consistent and loving advice. He had a good sense of humor.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. William Burleigh and Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence.
