Fred J. Keene

Fred “Bud” Keene, 92, of Union Hall, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. He was born on April 3, 1927 in Woodlynne, NJ. A son of the late James Rudy Keene and Edith Levitica Matteson. In addition to his parents Bud was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne Keene and his second wife, Erlene Downs James Keene.

Fred served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired chemist with the Dupont Company. He loved to play bridge with family and friends. He also was a member of the BPOE #2844 and a huge supporter of CCF, Christian Children’s Fund in Richmond, VA.

Fred is survived by his son Douglas “Doug” Keene and his wife, Robin; also surviving are numerous other family and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Bud’s life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Christ Community Church in Penhook, VA with Pastor Derek Layman officiating.
